Mother Caroline Society

Mother Caroline Friess, the foundress of the School Sisters of Notre Dame in America, had a missionary heart and a preference for helping the poor. Before her death in 1892, she founded nearly 300 schools and orphanages in the U.S. and Canada that served more than 70,000 students. Because of Mother Caroline and other SSNDs, many of these children had a chance for a better life and opportunities that may have never come if the SSND had not been part of their lives.

Today, Mother Caroline Society members share in the mission of educating and empowering the poor by including the School Sisters of Notre Dame in their estate plans. This ensures that future generations will benefit from our donors' personal commitment and vision through the works of SSND.

We invite you to share in our mission of educating and empowering those in need by joining the Mother Caroline Society. This may be done in several ways depending upon what is most comfortable for you. We encourage you to seek the advice of your family, an estate planner or other legal counsel before deciding.
