November 12, 2009 – Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services featured on Fox 6 TV News
The story profiles Milwaukee Achiever and the issue of adult learning, with a focus on Sister Barbara Kenney and one of her ABE learners. The reporter, Sarah Platt, was inspired by a national story she saw a couple of weeks ago. Sarah and her videographer came to the Pierce Center. Many thanks to everyone who pulled together to make this happen – Anita Zepeda, Sue Sterling, Sr. Barbara Kenney – and especially to our learner, who had the courage to come forward and tell his story! The segment is titled: “On the Updside: 47-year-old Milwaukee Man works hard to fight illiteracy.”
