May 20, 2009 – Congratulations Milwaukee Achiever
Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services was recently awarded accredited status by ProLiteracy America, the U.S. Programs Division of ProLiteracy Worldwide. Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services has served the Milwaukee, Wis. area for 26 years, helping adults improve their reading, mathematics, listening, writing, speaking and technology skills.
Peter Waite, Executive Director of ProLiteracy America says, "We are proud to add Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services to our growing list of accredited organizations. They have demonstrated that their orgnization meets the highest national standards and that their services to the community are effective. We applaud the many volunteers, staff, and students who have devoted their time and effort to achieve this goal.
Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services was initiated by a collaborative effort of Mount Mary College, Alverno College, and Cardinal Stritch University. The religious women associated with this initiative continue to be a major source of tutors, along with many other volunteers.
